An Outdoor getaway from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. 2.5 mile loop that leads to a waterfall. Part of Red Rock Canyon Reserve.

Red Rock Canyon is about 30-45 minutes outside of Las Vegas and is the perfect little get away from the noise of Sin City; however, it will still be slightly infested with tourists.

From the trailhead it just looks a bit like thick brush, but once you get into it, you find tiny pools and a little bit of bouldering, if you're not into climbing over the rocks most of them have trails that you can take around them. Parts of the hike to the waterfall can be misleading. The trail goes in multiple directions but, as long as you're heading into the canyon you're headed in the right direction. At one point we had to lift the dog up part of the way because he couldn't jump high enough to finish the trail.

Once at the waterfall, you can climb up to the pool which is about 20-30 feet up to a pool which is pretty fun if you're willing to climb up.

On the way back, we stuck to what seemed to be a dried up river bed for the most of the return trip. There was more bouldering, which was a little more difficult for the dog, but it was still manageable and we all had a blast.

Forever grateful for this place

Great for everyone, waterfalls depending on the season and great for anyone. Done this one so many times!

I hiked this today with my dogs, it was a good hike! Getting up there we were fine but my older dog had to be lifted down in a few spots on the way down. All in all it was a good hike although pay attention to the trail, it branches off in so many different spots it's easy to fall off course and get lost and there are no trail markers.

I hiked it in the winter so no waterfall, it was fun.
