Spruce Mountain Loop is a great hike right outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado that boasts great views of the Front Range.

Spruce mountain is an approximately 4.2 mile loop outside of Colorado Springs near Palmer lake. The hike is a pretty easy one, that has some great views of the Front Range including peak a boo views of Pikes Peak. Starting at the Trailhead, you can either take the right or left trail which will take you to the top of the bluff overlooking the valley. Once at the top there are plenty of spots to catch views of the valleys and mountains.

Spruce Mountain Loop

This is a perfect loop for trail running. At nearly a 10K distance, it begins with a good, run-able climb to the top of the bluff, a scenic loop on top, then a fun descent to bomb back to the car. The trails are wide, so even when it's crowded, passing hikers is pretty easy.

If you are in need of a very easy hike with a little scenery then you have come to the right place. There are picnic tables throughout the trail with views of the front range, cattle ranches, and the Palmer Lake community.
