Moderate 3.6 mi RT hike with spectacular sunset views in Capitol Reef National Park.
From the trailhead, the trek starts off pretty step. You will reach a fork near the top of the plateau which starts the official loop. At the junction go left (counterclockwise). The trail offers wonderful views along the way. The loop will bring you on top of "chimney rock" for views over Hwy 24 as far as the eye can see. This is one of the best short hikes in Capitol Reef State Park that offers spectacular high elevation views.

Reviews
This hike is the perfect combination of length, difficulty, and scenery. There is a good little climb at the beginning of the hike which is not very hard, but it does get your blood pumping. The views once you get to the top are really spectacular, making this a great spot to catch a sunset. The back half of the hike is really nice too, traversing some neat boulder fields below massive sandstone cliffs.
