Description

Easy 2 mile out-and-back hiking trail in the Andrew Molera State Park, where you get to cross the Big Sur River and hike a trail through a gorgeous meadow with different flowers. At the end of the trail, you get to relax and unwind at the beach.

Entrance to the parking lot is $10 per car, and once you get in be sure to use the restroom before you head for the trail, since you will likely spend a good amount of time out there.

Look for the sign that says Creamery Meadow Trail. You'll know it's right when the very first thing you'll need to do is to cross the Big Sur River. (Sidenote: It had rained the day before we came, so the water was about knee/thigh deep. Not sure if this is the same all year-round.) Be careful when crossing, because the currents tend to be strong. The water was pretty clear, so you'll get to see the rocks underneath. Try to aim for the big sturdy ones.

After crossing the river continue on the trail towards the left, and once you've hit a marked junction, head towards Creamery Meadows Trail and continue on until you see the meadow open up to Molera Beach.

Here you will find a 2.5-mile strip of beach, with great rock formations that look amazing in photos. Enjoy swimming, relaxing in the sand, or having a picnic, and once ready to leave you can go back the same way you came in.

(Want More?: There are other hiking trails available from Molera Beach, so if you want to continue on with your ventures, I highly suggest the Bluffs Trail. Just head back to where the Creamery Meadow Trail starts from the beach, and there you will find another junction. Head towards the right for Bluffs Trail, and this will lead you up to a cliff-side trail, offering great views north & south. Go as far as you'd like, and head back the same way you came in)
