Description

A scenic 2 mile loop around Mill Creek which includes the Lanternman's Mill.
This is a lovely 2 mile hike along Mill Creek. We parked by Lake Newport and started off on the West Gorge Trail toward the Mill. The trail itself was decent, with some rough spots, but still hike able. Make sure you go down to the Creek before you head across the covered bridge to the East Gorge Trail.
The East Gorge Trail has boardwalks and steps that let you easily hike what would be a rather challenging hike with steep cliffs and rocky terrain. The boardwalk leads you down to the creek bed and winds through the gorge.
All in all, this is truly a hidden gem sitting in the middle of Youngstown. Definitely worth bringing the whole family for a great time out in the woods.

Reviews
It was a beautiful day in the park. The only hinderance was the road construction that made it a challenge to get to the Lanterman's Mill parking area. a portion of the trail to the mill was closed also. once we figured our way around it, it was fine.
