The Great Hills Park Trail is a great little North Austin neighborhood trail full of nature.
The Great Hills Park trail is a 2.3 mile point-to-point nature trail found within the Great Hills neighborhood of Northwest Austin. The trail is perfect for cycling, hiking, or just for taking a regular walk. The hike features a multitude of wildlife and is primarily shaded. There are several bat houses along the trail. During the months of summer in either the early morning or right before sunset you can catch them returning to/leaving their homes. There is also a creek that runs through the park, alongside the trail.
The trail is made of dirt and has few inclines. Though this trail is flat for the most part, there are some inclines, making it difficult for those who have mobility limitations. Parking can be found along either Sierra Oaks street or Floral Park Dr, where the trailheads is easily accessible. Dogs are more than welcome, just be sure to clean up after them!
