Description

Inner Canyon Trail takes you into Castlewood Canyon along Cherry Creek. This hike has great views and is dog-friendly.

The Inner Canyon Trail begins at the Canyon Point Parking Lot. There are a few trails that leave from this lot, so make sure you're following signs for "K."

Right away, you'll descend down a few dozen stairs into the canyon itself. You'll quickly cross a bridge and be on your way. This trail is a lot of fun, with lots of rocks to climb over and stunning views of the canyon in both directions.

After a quick 1.16 miles, you'll reach a series of trail junctions, letting you choose-your-own-adventure, so to speak. Head over the boulders in the creek to go to the Lake Gulch trail, head straight up the hill for the Dam Trail, or turn around and go back the way you came for a 2.3 mile out-and-back.

Dogs are allowed on the trail as long as they are on a leash!

Reviews

One of the key things as to why i rated thus trail 5 star is because of how close it is to home (Aurora). Second it’s a beautiful beginner trail that runs along a stream with lots of shade.
