Description

A loop hike through a quite pine forest. Great for hiking or trail running.
This loop hike is accessed from a short walk from the Bold Cypress Trail and the visitor center. There are no views along this trail but the what I enjoyed was the pine needle covered trail itself. The pine needles are like a soft carpet padding the trail. I enjoy trailing running this loop more than hiking but either can be done.

Reviews
This is my absolute favorite running trail in the park, you get some elevation change, Which is rare in Hampton Roads. It's just over 6 miles if you run it from Hot Tuna. Pretty swamp views but the lack of water access is what keeps it pretty low traffic most days.

This was a welcome change from the pavement and the trails were pretty soft! Was nice on the knees.
