Description

Added by Noah Couser

Enjoy an easy stroll along Lake McDonald's west shore featuring some incredible views.

From the trailhead, just past Fish Creek Campground on the North Fork Road, begin strolling along the trail towards Rocky Point.  The trail meanders through some forest, and along a stream, and then eventually gets you some views of Lake McDonald.  The trail is signed the whole way. Finish off your short hike with a picnic and a swim at Rocky Point.  There are some fantastic small rocks to jump off of (hence the name) if you dare the icy waters.  Return the same way you came, and promptly head for a huckleberry ice-cream cone in Apgar Village.

Reviews

Worth the short hike to get to this spot. Beautiful waters surrounded by incredible views. Watch out for the sharp rocks though - really hard on bare feet and potentially dangerous underwater rocks for those planning to jump in.
