Description

A secluded spot for those hikers who don't want to go too far outside of Nashville but still want a relaxing time on the trails.
The trailhead is located across from the Woods at Fontanel Music Venue, with the trail leading up and over the ridge behind the Fontanel Mansion and back down by the Woods at Fontanel VIP seating area. Keep in mind that the trails also connect to a mile of paved Metro Parks Greenway for foot and bike traffic. There is also a large grassy field right before the trail head where you can relax or fly a kite.
Once you begin the 2.5 mile loop you will notice that the trail is shaded with lots of trees which brings you up close to nature and the abundant wildlife including beautiful deer. Since the elevation gain isn't extreme, the slopes aren't very steep. While the trail is maintained, it is not paved and is in some spots muddy. That's alright though, just don't be afraid to get your boots dirty. The trail has benches throughout the way just in case you want to pause, sit back and enjoy your beautiful surroundings. I always suggest bringing a camera with you while hiking and it doesn't change this time either. The Trails at Fontanel really knows hoe to deliver the forest beauty through the eye and ears, enjoy!

Reviews
The trail Is not marked well at all. We had to find it by trial and error. We eventually did find the entrance. The trail is basic. Great for beginners. As a fairly experienced hiker, I was bored but my friend really enjoyed it.
