Wildcat Canyon is conveniently located in the East Bay, and the numerous of trails are suited for hikers of all kinds — those looking for short hikes and those looking for all day hikes. The rolling hills provide much elevation gain, for those who want it, while other trails are great for beginner hikers.
Starting off on Wildcat Creek Trail, the trail is wide and rolling. After about 4 miles make a left on Jewel Trail, then onto Sylvan Trail. Another left puts you on Wildcat Peak Trail. Be sure to check your map, as many trails intersect here. Wildcat Peak Trail runs into Nimitz Way, at which point turn left. This is a great grassy spot for a picnic, with views that overlook the bay.
From here, head slightly downhill and take a left onto Conlon Trail, which leads 2 miles back to Wildcat Creek Trail. Turn right, and walk about .3 miles, making a right on Mezue Trail. An uphill climb for 1.33 miles, the Mezue Trail provides spectacular views and quite the lower body workout.
Head left onto the San Pablo Ridge Trail, which winds slightly downhill for 1.2 miles. This leads to the Belgum Trail which, after almost a mile intersects the Wildcat Creek Trail.

Reviews
This is a fantastic trail running spot, in part for its minimal elevation gain and maximum miles, and in part because of its awesome views of Richmond, Berkeley, and SF beyond. One of the easiest & quickest ways to feel like you've left the city, with all the closeness & comforts of civilization.
