Enjoy an incredible waterfall flowing from the peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park. This hike is short, beautiful, and suitable for everyone! Keep your eyes peeled for moose in this area!

Adams Falls is one of the most popular hikes in the Grand Lake area, and one of the easiest. If you are just hiking to the falls, you will not need to bring much with you besides a camera, due to the distance.

If you plan to venture past the falls, pack accordingly.

Once you park in the trailhead parking lot, begin your short trek on the wide dirt path over the small hill. From here you will defend the small hill and cross a small bridge. Continue on the path as it winds up through the forest at a slight angle. You will soon reach a fork in the trail, look for the sign above, and continue to your right.

Soon you will drop into the viewing area for the falls. Take a minute to enjoy the falls, and if you want to be a little more adventurous, go around the downstream side stone-wall of the viewing area and scramble down to see more of the falls. Remember to be careful near edges and practice Leave No Trace. You do not want to fall or jump into this water. It is very cold, narrow, and fast-moving.

Enjoy your time at the falls, then continue hiking on the East Inlet Trail, or return to the parking lot.

It is best to go in early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds. This is a very popular hike for tourists as it is very short and very easy.

It took me less than 10 minutes to get to the falls, wearing Chacos if that gives you an idea how short it is.

Reviews

Make sure to take a fly rod as above the falls is awesome brook trout fishing in summer. Used the hopper dropper.

I also have hiked this in chacos! Great spot to come out to after work/in the late afternoon (not in monsoon season)

Hiked this July 2. Very easy trail with great end result. My grandparents even accompanied us. Some of us climbed down to where the falls turn into a river, very nice!! Good views of Grand Lake as well. There are restrooms at trailhead

Super short hike with a cool payout! Very busy in the middle of the day, maybe best to stop by early in the morning or closer towards the evening.
