Description

For some of the best above-treeline, 360 degree views in the White Mountains, Bondcliff is a great hike to experience on a warm-weather day!

Park at the Lincoln Woods Visitors Center off the Kancamagus Highway where the Lincoln Woods Trailhead begins. Because of such a long hike, it's best to start at daybreak, or as early as possible to make it back before dark. The trail starts at the beginning of a suspension bridge crossing the East Branch Pemigewasset River. Follow this for 2.9 miles of relatively flat terrain until you reach the Wilderness Trail. Follow the Wilderness Trail for 1.8 miles, until reaching a final trail intersection where you'll take the Bondcliff Trail. This last 4.4 mile section oftrail is is a strenuous uphill climb with several rock scrambles containing most of the elevation gain. Upon reaching tree line, a beautiful view of the ridge leads straight to Bondcliff where the most photogenic views are seen of the Pemigewasset Wilderness and surrounding White Mountains! From here you can turn around and head back after taking a well deserved break.
