Description

This is a 4.2 mile round trip hike that will leave you breathless! Double O Arch is unique because it features two arches stacked on top of each other.
Starting at the Devils Garden Trailhead, this 4.2 mile looped moderate hike features flat sandy paths to narrow sandstone slabs with narrow ledges. Best time to complete this hike is early in the morning. Getting to the Devils Garden Trailhead at sunrise will almost definitely guarantee you a parking spot and will help you beat the heat. This hike offers little sun protection and no water sources along the way so make sure you are prepared. Make sure you keep an eye out for the trail because at some points it can easily vanish.

Double O is pretty awesome. It is far enough away from the trailhead and other arches that it does not get very crowded. This is a great place to stop and have some lunch before continuing on the Primitive Loop.

The least crowded trail we encountered on our Utah trip. We had the Double O arch all to ourselves around 9 am The trail does get a little fuzzy so be weary of where you are going.

I love this park, and Double Arch was one of the many arches I checked out as well. I definitely got off the trail several times throughout the park so be careful if you're not used to hiking in the desert, but the scenery is beautiful. Definitely recommend going in the early morning before the crowds and heat.

A great fun, short hike - well worth taking into account that temperatures can rise dramatically, so carrying ample water is a must! As is sunscreen!

Started up with this hike at 6:45 am this past week to hike with the sunrise. Not a soul was to be found on the trail until I headed back to my car by around 8:15. It was worth waking up early to have the whole area to myself!

This was a fun hike, albeit a windy one! Like the post said, the trail can be hard to follow at times. In particular, there is one spot near the end where you might think you need to jump down from the sandstone trail...don't! Turn right and continue walking along the sandstone. And hold on to your hat! (Literally, my friend's blew away and we never found it!)

Hiking up the stone fin to get to Double O Arch may give those that are afraid of heights some butterflies, but don't let that stop you from completing this hike as the effort is well worth the reward! Double O is one of the most spectacular arches in the park and is truly a sight to behold.
