Hike to a 70 foot waterfall you can walk right under and behind.
The trail begins at the back of the parking area, and is marked by a trail sign. Once on the trail it is a straight shot to the waterfall with no turnoffs. Overall the trail is very easy and is a slight descent all the way down. Around .3 miles into the trail you enter a forest of now dead hemlocks this will let you know that you are closing in on the waterfall. From here continue down the trail and you will see the waterfall. You can easily walk up to it, below it, and even in it if you want to! Just be sure to be careful as some of the rocks are slippery surrounding the waterfall. If you want to turn this into a much longer trail, the trail does continue up and to the left of the waterfall all the way up to the Craggy Gardens visitor center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Although not from experience, the this trail is supposedly very difficult to follow as well as very strenuous so make sure to come fully prepared if you plan on extending the hike. If you are content with seeing the beautiful falls and heading out simply follow the trail back up. Once again there are no turnoffs on the way up, however it will be somewhat more difficult as you are going at a slight incline for most of the .5 mile return trip. As always make sure to pack out any trash and leave the trail in a good condition!

After what seems like a forever-long drive on a gravel road you approach a parking lot. After an easy 25 minute walk (if that) you are at the falls! Love to come and enjoy the cool mist ❤️

This is a beautiful hike, we had the trail to ourselves. Keep in mind it is all downhill to the falls and all uphill out and quite a long hike down. Maybe 4-5 miles one way. Beautiful day trip !
