Great day hike just outside of Frisco.

Starting at just over 9,000ft the Meadow Creek trail follows the path of the similarly named Meadow Creek. Through a canopy of aspens and pines the trail climbs at a steady, moderate rate. After a few water crossings the trees give way to an alpine meadow that offer a view of the final approach to the pass.

The last climb taking you to the pass is very steep compared to the rest of the hike but it's short and the trail tread is excellent.

Once you're at the pass the view is excellent. To the north you can see Red Peak straight across and Buffalo Mountain off to the east.

While the view to the south is impressive, I think it gets better when you come off the pass. Once your back on the flatish valley floor you get a great look at the Ten Mile Range. Be sure to stop here and take it in before heading down.
