Description

Relatively easy and short hike through thick forest to two wonderful waterfalls.

Located on the Hamilton Mountain Trail, the Hardy and Rodney falls out and back hike is a good alternative for those looking for a shorter hike compared to the 7.6 mile hike to the top of Hamilton Mountain.

From the Hamilton Mountain Trailhead you will follow the trail through thick trees for most of the way to the falls with a few openings along the way. When you begin to hear the rushing water from the falls you will soon stumble across a short trail that will take you to the Hardy Falls lookout. When you've spent enough time at the viewpoint continue back onto the trail where you will soon see the bridge that crosses in front of Rodney Falls. There's also a little trail just before the bridge at Rodney Falls that take you to an overlook.

Reviews

It’s a short hike so take the time to play in the pools and enjoy the wonder around you. A bit crowded on the trail but we were shut out of Beacon rock Trail so this was our alternative. Really had a good time.

This is the perfect hike for beginners but for experienced hikers it’s a little underwhelming especially if you’re a view junkie.

Beautiful falls, and Pool of the Winds is so incredible! Wear rain paints and waterproof shoes if you're going during the rainy season!
