For a quick adventure that offers awesome views of Cheyenne Canyon, this is a great hike to pair with another adventure in the area!

Park at the log-cabin visitor's center on North Cheyenne Canyon Rd just before it turns into Gold Camp Rd. I definitely recommend arriving early, as the parking lot fills up quickly. Helen Hunt Falls is in sight of the parking area, and another 1/3 mile past that you'll run into Silver Cascades.

The trail can get quite busy, so I'd recommend visiting on a weekday if possible.

Pair this adventure with one of the many others right off North Cheyenne Canyon Rd!

Reviews

Easy hike to the actual waterfall. As you hike past the falls, the elevation increases drastically. The altitude definitely effects going up if you’re not used to it already. So many benches and spots to take a break. The views were stunning. Snowed pretty heavy on our trip so it was a struggle. Didn’t actually see the falls as it was frozen over on our trip :( hopefully we get to come back when it’s warmer!

This little hike is a good place to take people from out of town for a short walk after driving Cheyenne Canyon and maybe heading over to gold camp road. Otherwise, there are better hikes. This place is often very crowded during summer and the walk is very short with not much of a view at the top. Cutler or Muscoco are better options if you have the time.

Short and crowded walk up to the viewing platform. Nice views of the falls and COS at the top, but be prepared to be surrounded by people.
