Hike to Nesbitts Knee Falls

Nesbitts Knee Falls is a beautiful and large plunge waterfall. It is an easy trek to get to with 40 metres of elevation gain at the beginning of the trail and then it levels out for the rest of the walk while it follows Waterfall Creek upstream to the waterfall. There is a wooden bench near the end of the trail that has a great view of the waterfall, and its a perfect spot to relax and take some photos. A little further down the trail there is a side trail that takes you down to the base of the falls, which are best seen during the spring. Be careful taking the trail down to the base of the falls as it is steep, and the rocks can get very slippery.

To reach Nesbitts Knee Falls, take the road from Tumbler Ridge to Kinuseo Falls – turn to the right off the Boundary Road 14 km from Tumbler Ridge. This is the start of the Murray River Forest Service Road. The end of the pavement is reached at km 3.9, as the road passes the Quintette coal mine. At kilometer 21.5 there is a signed turnoff to the left, near a natural gas plant. Take this road, which crosses the Murray River after 500 meters and forks after another 500 meters. The right road leads to Barbour Falls, and the left road leads to Nesbitt’s Knee Falls.
