This 14km roundtrip trail will provide a few great features: lush forests, river, and a great waterfall.
The trail starts in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park.
This is a fantastic day hike that give you just enough of a challenge but isn't too long. It's about 14km to the norvan waterfalls and back ( 7km each way) and it totally work the walk. There is very minimal gain on this hike.
The first bit of the trail is along the lower Lynn Loop which is a wide gravel road. Make sure to look for the old relics from the days of logging. As you pass the junction the trail will wind along the Lynn Canyon River before gently turning inwards towards the mountains. The remainder of the trail winds through forests before you finally emerge on NorVan Falls.
This hike can be very busy during the spring and summer months with the first few km's of the trail usually very busy with people walking their dogs. Parking can also be very busy and the lots fill up quick so make sure you arrive early.
Because these trails are in a temperate rainforest, and it tends to rain a lot in Vancouver, these trails can be very muddy. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes.
If you fill out the hiking sheet at the start of the trail, don't forget to deposit the other half on the way out of the park.

Reviews
Classic North Van trail along the river - gentle and fairly flat, beautiful old growth trees. Fairly populated so if you are looking for solo time on the trails maybe plan elsewhere. Falls were barely a trickle early September, possibly a better hike in the Spring.

I hiked this trail in January and then again in February. Even during winter, the trail is easy to follow, and relatively clear of snow. Love this hike!

The hike was easy at first then I took the hard way up to the waterfall. It was pretty exhausting but was so amazing looking at the scenery. Interesting and hard hike loved it!

Beautiful falls up and slowly rising and well-marked trail. Can be busy on weekends as its in a busy part of the park. The falls vary depending upon the time of the year but can be a beautiful spot year-round. If Vancouver gets snow its a great trail to snowshoe up.
