This is a beautiful waterfall, only 1 hour south from Nashville! Easier hike, dog-friendly, and a great escape from the city!
This waterfall is a fun short hike that can be done quick, or a nice place to hangout for the day in your hammock to read a book!
From Nashville, take I-65 south and take the Saturn Parkway toward Columbia. Turn right on Hwy 43 and proceed about 21 miles. The natural area parking area is on the right once you have passed over the Judge Workman Bridge. It is about three miles northeast of Summertown on Hwy 43 on the left just before the bridge. Putting in "Stillhouse Falls" in your gps will also give you the exact directions you need.
Once parked at the parking lot, you will start the hike at the trail beside the kiosk at the front of the parking lot entrance. Along the trail you will cross a wooden foot bridge and a small cascade of a waterfall. There is a small foot path to the right that people have made that takes you to the top of the waterfall. You will see it, when you start to descend, and the waterfall will be in your view on the right. That foot path doesn't loop anywhere or reconnect, so you'll need to retrace your footsteps back to the main trail to go to the bottom of the waterfall.
The trail ends at the waterfall and is about 2.3 of a mile.
This waterfall spot can be quite popular in the summertime with families, kids, and hikers. There isn't much of a swimming hole here, just some wading around you can do that's about knee-deep. It's a great place to bring the hammock, a book, your dog, or kids here to enjoy a day outdoors away from the city! Hike during the spring, and you'll see an abundance of different colored wildflowers!

We went to Stillhouse today for the first time, and wow! What a magical place! The beginning of the trail has a very whimsical/fairy vibe. It's an easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. We had the place to ourself and enjoyed wading and climbing the falls. Thanks for the tip!
