Description

This place is so local is doesn't even have an official name, so folks just call it the Baldy Slide. And yes, you can slide down it!

Located near the Angeles National Forest, it's a short hike, approx. 2.5 miles roundtrip and just about anybody can go. To get there, input the intersection of Mt. Baldy Rd. and Barrett Stoddard Truck Trail into your GPS. This will bring you to a small dirt parking lot. The trailhead starts at the rocks blocking an old road that's now falling apart (you'll see it in the dirt parking lot). Hike down that road and in less than a mile in you'll see a dirt path on your left that heads down to the water. If you miss it, don't worry, you'll see several trails, just keep going down the road until you see a path on your left that you're comfortable with. Once you reach the stream, hike upstream and you'll run right into the scene in the photo above.

If you'd like to take the big dip and ride the slide, you'll find the trail that leads to the top of the slide a bit further up. Be careful, it's slippery, but fun!
