Hike a portion of the former supply route to the Iditarod Dogsled Race and view mining ruins alongside the trail. Most importantly enjoy a night of quiet solitude in the Crow Pass Cabin.
Climb 3 miles from the parking lot at the Crow Creek Trailhead to Crow Pass. Waiting for you at Crystal Lake is the quaint A-frame Forest Service Cabin, along with an amazing view of Crystal Lake. The cabin sits just 500 feet off of the main trail upon reaching the pass. Reservations can be made to stay in the cabin through the Forest Service: fs.usda.gov
The trail winds through old mining ruins, evidence of mining operations are scattered around the hillside. Climbing 2,080 feet of elevation in 3 miles, this trail is steep, but the views are worth it. The cabin is located at these coordinates: 61.05555556, -149.1169444. Bring bear spray and be cautious of wildlife.
Enjoy a post-hike meal at the quirky Double Musky Inn where you will enjoy some of the finest Cajun food you'll ever taste, and an interesting dining atmosphere to say the least.

Awesome hike through some old mining areas. Be sure to hike past the cabin through the pass for some great mountain and glacier views.

I just recently stayed in Crow Pass Cabin and absolutely loved it. The mountains were surrounded by snow and it was a fantastic place to just warm up after hiking the Crow Pass Trail from Eagle River Nature Center.
