The best time to go is Nov-Mar, and the waterfall is usually only "flowing" after a rainstorm, so plan accordingly. Night hiking here is an option and should take about ~2 hours. It is $6 parking per car.

So to fully enjoy the theme of this hike, make sure to try and go right after a rain. But also know that since this is a pretty easy hike, you will won't be the only one there. This is also a great hike/ waterfall to do with someone that is new to desert hiking, since it is relatively easy and there isn't a lot of elevation gain. The trail is clearly marked with interpretive signs pointing out and describing various formations and things to see. A pretty awesome hike after a rain.

Great easy hike to some great views!

Its true. Frogs, and lots of them do arrive in spring at the base of the watertrickle(fall) Pretty cool, pretty crowded at times, but 100% worth it. This is perfect for toddlers if you have children in this age range. Not all flat, but enough of a scramble that it provides an enjoyable family trip.

Definitely a good beginner hike with a well-maintained trail and pretty scenery. If you hail from a land where waterfalls contain some amount of cascading water, reset your expectations before hitting the trail. The times I've been to the "waterfall" I've seen some wet rocks and a smallish pool/puddle beneath, but no actual waterfall. I have no doubt this would be very pretty after a heavy rainfall, though. The downsides to the trail for me are a) in my experience, it has been pretty crowded, and b) it's kind of a boring hike. I think the park has prettier trails that aren't quite as crowded. Fortunately, the park has a Nature Center staffed with good folks who can recommend trails based on your skill level.
