Hike to the top of Hurricane Hill for amazing views of the Olympic Mountains and a view across the Sound to Canada.
To get to this hike you drive up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. The drive up to Hurricane Ridge is on a winding road with amazing views of the mountains. Once you reach the visitors center at Hurricane Ridge you can fill up water bottles or use the restroom. The trailhead for Hurricane Hill is just a few minutes drive further down the road.
The hike up Hurricane Hill is a 3 mile out and back hike with 950 feet of elevation gain. The trail is well traveled in the summer and is easy to follow; it's even paved for part of the way. You may see some wildlife such as deer and marmot on the way up to the summit.
From the 5757 foot peak you have a 360 degree view of the Olympic Mountains on one side and the sound on the other. You can even see Canada, Mt. Baker, and Mt. Olympus.

Reviews
Loved this hike with all members of the family. Mother-in-law required breaks at benches along the way. Whole path paved with some single track dirt path for side adventures at the top!

Even in poor weather with the views blocked by fog, I still loved this trail. It’s not a strenuous hike for the park’s standards and I could spot wildlife right off of the trail

This was a short hike up to the top of a hill but the views are INCREDIBLE. I've never seen anything like it!

This was a short, easy hike, and well worth it for the views. Unfortunately, before we reached the top clouds rolled in and heavy snow began (in mid-June!), so we didn't get the panoramic views at the top. While the trail was busy, we saw lots of wildlife including marmot and deer.

Fog rolled in blanketing only the valleys below. An unforgettable hike!
