Longer, 11.2 mile dog-friendly loop in Pedernales Falls State Park.
Wolf Mountain and Juniper Ridge Trail Loop is a 11.2 mile loop hike within Pedernales Falls State Park, right outside of Johnson City, Texas.
The trail is pretty wide and great for all sorts of exercising and social distancing. The trail is relatively moderate and well maintained. There is little shade but it is still a great hike. There are several scenic views as well as dips down into the creek bed. If you want to see water views, it is best to hike this trail after recent rains.
Keep in mind that the Juniper Ridge portion of the hike is more strenuous than that of Wolf Mountain. It is more rocky and there are more inclines.
Dogs are welcome, just be sure to pick up after them and keep them on a leash!
