Incredible views of Zion's Canyon with great photo opportunities. Short and easy hike with a great reward.

The trailhead is located east out of the 1.1 mile long tunnel off highway 9. Parking is available immediately to the right after exiting the tunnel and the trail then begins with these charming steps, carved into sandstone, that climb above the Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel. The trail is broad and easy to follow, but could get muddy and rocky at certain points. If it had rained before you take this trail, watch out for muddy or slippery trails.

This short and easy hike ends at the edge of a cliff that rewards you with a magnificent view of lower Zion Canyon, including Zion's famous Switchbacks, the Beehives, West Temple, East Temple, Towers of the Virgin and the Streaked Wall. This hike is perfect if you are looking for a high elevation viewpoint, but do not want to tackle a grueling trail.

Small parking lot across from trailhead, it fills up fast but if you're lucky there will be a spot open when you're passing by. If not, many park along the road and walk down the shoulder/sidewalk to the trail. The trail is narrow which makes for slow going on a busy day. Short hike with an amazing view at the end. Child friendly as long as they are not afraid of heights.

A very easy hike in Zion. Perfect for new hikers or kids. Views are great.

This is a short hike but the views over Zion canyon are amazing. Fun trail.

Beautiful short hike at the entrance of Zion National Park! This hike is less than a mile with very little elevation change, so it's definitely doable on tired legs or little legs. It is a great place to watch the sunset if you don’t want to do an intense hike in Zion!

Great hike to the top. Takes about an hour round trip. Parking is very limited during peak times. Amazing views. Pictures don’t do it justice.

This hike was easy and crazy beautiful

Canyon overlook was maybe the biggest bang for the effort. A short and sweet hike ends at a spectacular alternative canyon viewpoint with lots of space to spread out and explore from many vantage points. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone.

Knowing we wouldn't be able to do Angels Landing with our 2 year old in tow, we hoped this would be the next best thing, luckily we were right! Views were stunning

Hiked this in the middle of the night by myself and a surreal experience I will never forget. It was slightly cloudy, but it cleared up with a full moon lighting up everything for me. I got to the edge of the canyon, laid there while stargazing and had quite a relaxing time. Going at night is definitely different compared to going during the day. I wouldn't go by myself unless you are a brave soul, but coming here at night is quite an experience.

Zion’s Overlook Trail is a short and easy hike that provides spectacular views of Zion’s main canyon. Do be aware that this is possibly the most popular hike in the park and you made need to find parking father up highway 9 where possible. If you are comfortable with rock scrambling, head north and climb along the slick slabs above the overlook towards the The East Temple. Here you will find the same and possibly better views of the canyon and surrounding features without the crowds.
