New Hampshire's oldest state park providing views of Mount Monadnock, Boston & Mount Washington.
Miller State Park is the oldest State park in New Hampshire and offers the perfect spring, summer or fall hike.
From the parking area, visitors can choose from one of three trails: The Marion Davis Trail (1.4 miles to peak), The Wapack Trail (1.4 miles to peak) or the Auto-road (~ 1.0 miles to peak).
Any of these trails can be completed as a loop or an out-and-back, and the auto-road can be walked or driven.
The Marion Davis Trail is a simple hike with a moderate incline, while the Wapack Trail is a bit more challenging as it requires more scrambling. The auto-road, when walked, is the steepest and shortest route, but also the quickest.
When you reach the peak, you'll find views of Mount Monadnock, Mount Kearsarge, Mount Cardigan, Mount Watatic, Mount Watchusett, and the Boston skyline. On a clear day, you can even see Mount Washington.
At the peak, you'll also find running water, bathrooms, picnic tables, and a fire tower that you can climb to enjoy 360-degree views of the region.
Unlike nearby Mount Monadnock, dogs are permitted at Miller; however, they must be leashed.
If you visit during September, be sure to catch migrating raptors at the Raptor Observatory hosted by NH Audubon. Through November 1st, Audubon staffs the summit to count raptors and discusses the project with visitors.
The fee to enter the park is $4 for adults and $2 for kids, and the booth is staffed from May through October.

Reviews
Excellent hiking trail! Went up Marion Davis and down Wapack Trail. The weather was beautiful and we got some amazing views of Mount Monadnock and could even see Boston. The bathrooms were very clean. The only reason for 4 stars....I don’t like coming off the trail at the summit and walking onto a parking lot.

Any trail you take up to the top has a fairly gentle/gradual incline. Therefore, this is a short quick hike up to the top with great views!

Beautiful! Nice, quick afternoon or am. Most take trail, but can drive or walk road to top. Fire tower at top - see (tiny) Boston skyline!
