Kalvebod Wave (Kalvebod Bølge)
København, Denmark
Description
Added by Margaret L
The waterfront structure, Kalvebod Bølge, is an amazing promenade that was designed to be explored. It rises to different levels and stretches out over the water providing a space for a range of activities in and out of the water.
Before the Kalvebod Bølge was opened in 2013, this area along Copenhagen's waterfront, used to be predominantly made up of office buildings and businesses. The Kalvebod Wave was designed by JDS Architects and Klar and consists of an undulating wooden boardwalk. Kalvebod Bølge is an urban space that brings the city closer to the water through the waving and bending surfaces. It provides areas to gather and engage in a variety of water sports. When the weather permits, you can easily go for a swim or a dip from this structure. It is made up of smaller activity zones and a slide where you can even kayak from.

Reviews
I find the cycling in Copenhagen is the best! We accidentally came across this and thought it was the most amazing thing. So many fun things to do and it was quite a challenge to go on it with our bikes. Apparently, during the summer time, there are many people that are jumping off and swimming around this. A great place to hang out and people watch.
