Very short hike/scramble to falls. Beautiful 74' waterfall with 2 drops. Rugged trail. Accessible year round. Trail begins at end of short drive on rough road - 4. X4 and high clearance is advised!

To get to Lazy Bear Falls, take Bacon Creek Road off the North Cascade Highway for 5 miles. At the 3-way fork, take the left road, which will lead you down and over a bridge crossing Bacon Creek. From here, the road will require 4x4 and high clearance.

From here, continue up the road for about 0.5 miles, at which point, the road takes a switch back and a fire pit should be visible on the left side. There is a road to the left, which will take you onto a heavily over-grown road. Take this road for 2/3 of a mile, where it will end at a turn around. Park here and you should hear the waterfall. Take an unmarked and overgrown trail to the east to lead you down to the falls. About 500 feet of scrambling will be required as the trail has been eroded in spots. There is another trail to the west that will take you to the upper part of the creek although the trail does vanish quickly.

This road is not maintained. 4 miles in, several trees have fallen onto the road, making it impassable, likely from an avalanche. You could probably still hike the rest of the way if you really wanted to, but main road even to this point is pretty miserable.

I haven't been there in 10+ years, thanks for reminding me of this place. Great photos too. Falls are pretty impressive during a big rain stone too. I'm going to have to make a side trip the next time I'm headed over north cascades highway.
