The White Mountains area, one of America's premier vacation playgrounds (including the Kancamagus Scenic Byway), is a showstopper - especially in autumn - when the foliage is a blazing palette of color. The 34-mile "Kanc" rises almost 3,000 feet, with scenic pull-offs, hiking trails, waterfalls and swimming holes. Visit outlet shops, Clark's Trading Post, glacial caves, Santa's Village and Story Land. Also in the area: horseback riding, alpine slides and waterslides.
