Mala Mojstrovka via Ferrata (Hanzova Pot)

This via ferrata is rated B/C, and because of it's relatively low difficult and accessibly from the pass, expect to see a large number of climbers on any given day during the summer. This is a route which requires via ferrata equipment and mountaineering knowledge. Please do not attempt without the proper equipment. You can also hire a guide in one of the nearby towns.

Your start point is Vršič Pass, which you can either drive to or take the tourist bus from Kranjska Gora. Follow the trail to the north side of the pass and which gains elevation before making a left turn towards the north face of Mala Mostrovka at around .5 miles. Continue on the trail for another .3 miles and you'll see markings for the Hanzova pot to your left. This is where you'll want to put on a harness and helmet and begin the via ferrata, ascending through a series of cables and rungs. It's quite straightforward and well protected -- more advanced climbers will likely feel slowed down by the amount of clip points.

You'll ascend rapidly along a series of steep faces and ledge systems before topping reaching a flatter section with an excellent view. The trail continues to the right, up the ridgeline, but with less protection from here to the top. Follow the blazes up the ridge and find yourself on the summit of Mala Mostrovka quite shortly!

If you're feeling good, you can continue on the ridge line towards Velika Mostrovka and Zadnja Mostrovka, or decend from the peak via the standard south route which will bring you back to the pass.
