Paddle Lake Placid
Lake Placid, New York
Description
Added by Michael Martineau
This paddle offers typically calm water with multiple coves to explore.
Paddleboarding on Lake Placid is definitely and activity to add to your list when up in the Adirondacks during spring or summer. Surrounded by mountains, there are multiple coves you can explore around the lake. There is no set route to follow but circling Buck Island or exploring Paradox Bay are great paddles. This is a big boating lake so be aware of passing boats. I suggest getting out early in the morning after sunrise or around sunset when the water is usually the calmest. Also be sure to bring a waterproof camera or GoPro to grab some pictures.
If you need to rent a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard check out Captain Marney's Boat Rental. We rented our gear from here as well as launched for the day. Pricing is very reasonable.
