A small arch with great views of the Alabama Hills.

The Eye of the Alabama Hills Arch is a quick hike or drive from the popular Mobius Arch just off Movie Flat Road. The rocks around the arch offer outstanding views of the surrounding Alabama Hills and Sierra Mountains. To get to the arch follow the directions for Mobius Arch which is a great first stop. From the Mobius Arch Trailhead head east on Movie Flat road for .7 mile. Look east or to your right to see the arch from the road. Find a place to park off the road. There's a couple of obvious spots. Hike a short .4 mile up to arch. You can download a free map from the BLM and get more information on their Website

Reviews

Very busy with people taking pics in one spot. But, if you just move around the area, you can find shots that are just as good (or even better) than the one everyone is waiting for.

Super short hike (1/4 mile maybe) to a small arch (surprising small) that you can look through and see the sun setting over Mt Whitney, the tallest peak in the lower 48. Usually not alone here and framing can be challenging but fun
