Close to downtown Gadsen, AL, this 90-ft waterfall is accessible by foot, 'train', or car.
Noccalula Falls is definitely beautiful from the top, however, you can really get an idea of the pure power of this waterfall by finding your way to the bottom. One way to get to the bottom is to go through the park entrance and pay the $6 admission fee to be able to reach the bottom.
Another option is to follow the Black Creek Trail, which is a gravel pathway that can be entered beside the Noccalula Falls wedding chapel. Follow that trail and look for a small offshoot trail on the left after about half a mile. It is a very steep little trail to get down that requires some scrambling down rock, but once you reach the bottom, there is a nice trail that leads you to the bottom of the falls.
It is also possible to view the falls from outside the park, near the campground parking lot.

Great place to stop! Several hiking paths for different rates of difficulty! Would be a fantastic place to camp and explore! There’s been a drought so the waterfall wasn’t as vibrant, but still a wonderful stop whether passing through to view or hiking down!

Best of the Waterfalls around northern Alabama I've seen so far.

Noccalula Falls is located in the middle of a park, so it's not going to have the same feel as finding a place like this in the backcountry. But views from the top are quite impressive, nonetheless, and the waterfall certainly won't disappoint! The best way to experience the falls is to hike down to the base and behind the falls.

This park has lots to do and explore! A wonderful place for families. I love to hike the trails in and around the park with my pup. If you are looking to photograph the falls, wait until the next beautiful day after a heavy rain. This 90' waterfall is gorgeous from any angle, and you can hike underneath it for creative shots.
