Photograph the Malarrif Lighthouse in Snæfellsjökull National Park
Malarrif Lighthouse, Iceland
Description
Added by Elyse Clark
This is a scenic lighthouse in Snæfellsjökull National Park located just a short walk from the National Park's visitor center.
From the visitor's center parking lot, take the path towards the lighthouse. This unique 24m (~80 ft) tall lighthouse was built in 1917, then rebuilt in 1946.
The grounds surrounding the lighthouse consist of lava formations. Depending on where you stand, you have views out to the Atlantic Ocean or back towards the Snæfellsjökull volcano.
Also along the short path to the lighthouse is a small zip line worth checking out!

Reviews
If you are making your way around this peninsula this is a nice stop. There are places to get food nearby and the lighthouse's position overlooking the ocean is beautiful.
