Fun walk from downtown Ithaca to Cornell campus. See 8 waterfalls along secluded forested path.
The Cascadilla Creek Gorge is the perfect retreat from Cornell campus or downtown Ithaca into serene natural surroundings. This short trail will take you down 400 feet past multiple waterfalls, through lush, green forest and 400 million year old bedrock. It will be tough to believe you didn't have to drive or take the train to reach this destination. You should also feel lucky to even be on this trail as it was closed for many years due to damages from storms and you have Cornell University to thank for the funding that took care of the restoration project.

Reviews
Great little hike, with loads of falls and a steady uphill. Can't imagine a better commute to class (if you don't mind being a tad sweaty). Plus it's easy access - the trailhead is right next to a bus stop in town.
