Sand Harbor is a family friendly beach. It has all the amenities of a first rate (KOA) campground.

This is what you would call a family beach. It is clean, beautiful, and well maintained. The admission price for vehicles has gone up quite a bit, but based on the economy and the fact that this park remains clean and glass-free, you really cannot complain. The beach gets pretty crowded and they will close the gates when parking is full so your best bet is to arrive before noon. The sand is soft and warm and the water, although a bit chilly, is clear as the blue sky. Kids love splashing in the water while adults enjoy soaking up the sun with a beautiful view.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, but want to treat the family go to Latin Soul great food and service.

Nice little beach to hang out on and eat lunch. It's worth a stop if you're on the north eastern side of the lake. Entry fee is $10.

We arrived here too late in the day - lucked out and found a parking spot, but it was SOOOOO busy. Hoping to go back in a few months with my hubby and give it another try!

This beach can get surfable waves when the wind gets high enough. Even without wind, this beach is a nice place to swim with snow capped mountains in the far background.

If you park in the main parking lot, take the boardwalk to the right, past the Shakespeare Stage, to the more secluded side of the peninsula. There is an area with shallow, warm(er) waters, a plethora of large rocks to climb on, swim between and underneath even! Also, the beach just beyond that is the prettiest area to SUP. (:

Bring your own kayak or rent one out for the day at the front. Lots of little rock islands to kayak to and climb.

There's a lot of small sandy areas you can reach in minutes if you rent, or own, a kayak or SUP. Use it at Sand Harbor to reach your own private beach.

Sand Harbor is best in September. Crowds are thinned and water temp is still good.
