Ride the world famous Slick Rock mountain bike trail. A twisty turn single track trail filled with punchy climbs and all the traction you can handle.
The Slick Rock mountain bike trail is a great trail option for all skill levels looking to get a taste of what Moab has to offer. The trail is unique in that it is almost entirely on rock, with only a few patches of sand and mud scattered throughout the 10 mile loop. The trail is easy to follow despite the lack of actual "trail" thanks to a series of white dashed lines winding through the landscape. While creativity is encouraged it is best to follow the white lines closely because steep exposed drops do exist and can pop up unexpectedly in blind spots. While the majority of the terrain is not very technical, the trail is littered with short steep climbs which can be very tiring for new riders. Beginners would be advised to first ride the practice loop, marked clearly by white arrows leading off the main trail. The main trail is a 2 mile trail out to an additional 6 mile loop. After completing the 6 mile loop, return on the same 2 mile trail. Total mileage is approximately 10.7 miles, to lengthen your ride add in the practice loop for an extra couple miles of fun.
Be sure to bring lots of water, snacks and sun screen because this trail features no shade and is very tiring despite its moderate length. The trail also crosses paths with 4x4 trails so its best to keep an eye out for off road vehicles crossing the trail. Extra hot days should be avoided and best times to ride this trail are in the morning or late afternoon. One of the most unique experiences you'll have on a mountain bike, Slick Rock is a trail you're not likely to forget any time soon.

Reviews
Fun spot to mountain bike. It's pretty famous and can get slippery when wet.

One of the most famous mountain biking spots in the world!! The rocks are surprisingly grippy even though it's called slick rocker. However, when wet it does earn its name, so be careful!
