Description

Park City's historic Union Pacific Railway is paved for the first 3-miles and great for year-round activities.

The Park City Rail Trail is a fantastic trail for walks, running, and biking in the spring, summer, and fall. During the winter it's groomed so you can Nordic ski, fat bike, run or walk.

Park City's historic Union Pacific Rail Trail has been paved from Bonanza Drive in Park City all the way out to Highway 248 - a distance of 3-miles. Since it's an old railway line, it's primarily flat with only 800 feet of elevation drop in 28-miles to Wanship. A great place to start is at White Pine Touring where you can rent bikes and go for a cruise for as long as you like.

Most people use the Park City Rail Trail as an out-and-back, but it can also be used to connect the Round Valley Trails, Lost Prospector Trail, or Freemason. Following Silver Creek, the pathway passes multiple ponds that waterfowl like to visit. In the winter, elk like to graze on the hillside across Kearns Blvd.

Overall, the Park City Rail Trail is a great place to get some exercise away from traffic and enjoy nature.
