This scenic drive along Alta Ski Hill provides great views of the Grand Teton. If the timing works out, this drive is great for sunrises and sunsets.

The scenic drive along Alta Ski Hill Road to Grand Targhee Ski Resort provides many amazing views of the Grand Teton, especially during autumn. The Grand Teton is one of the most spectacular mountain peaks in all of the U.S. People travel the world to come see this specific mountain. Most people, when coming to see the Grand Teton, visit Grand Teton National Park near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. However, not as many people come to visit the Grand Teton from the west side in Alta, Wyoming. If you want to see the Tetons but don't want the crowds, check out the Tetons from the Idaho side.

On the drive up, there a couple of areas to pull off of to photograph the Tetons, so make sure to take the time to do so. The sun rises behind the Tetons, so make sure to show up a little before to hopefully catch some colorful clouds above the Tetons. The last light at sunset is also beautiful as the sun turns the Grand Teton a pinkish hue. If you are on a motorcycle, this is a perfect road to drive up and enjoy the crisp, mountain air.

You can just enjoy the drive up and turn around and go back down the road, or if you'd like to go skiing, keep driving up the hill until you reach Grand Targhee Ski Resort. The ski resort opens in late November. This ski resort is a very popular destination, and people travel from all over the world to ski here.

Beautiful scenic route 10/10 recommend

Just did this drive in early November for sunrise. Beautiful drive with a different perspective of the Tetons than the more popular Wyoming side. With little to no traffic early in the morning (during off season) we were able to skate the hill without any issues, so bring your skateboards if skating is up your alley.

Beautiful drive any time of the year. We needed four wheel drive in February but chains shouldn't be needed
