Peter Estin hut has it all! After a strong hike in, it opens up to amazing views and great skiing for the whole crew to enjoy.

If you have stayed in other 10th Mountain Division Huts, Peter Estin is a quite similar and definitely one of my favorites. I made the trip in the winter because of the awesome skiing/snowboarding just right out side the front door.

The trailhead begins at Yeoman Park and there are two routes that you can take. A more scenic, flatter route is about 7 miles. Or, the one I like starts by following the road to Fulford Cave and winds up the forest. You climb about 2,000 feet in 3 miles, so make sure to leave early enough, especially in the winter, depending on your skill level.

But it is so rewarding! We spent the next day hiking around the backside of the hut to explore the epic panoramic view and ski around in the trees. If you hike to the top, which isn't too difficult, you are exposed to the most incredible views. It also links well with another hut, Polar Star.

Hey Ian! You don't really rent out the entire hut, you more of rent out a bed/space in the hut. They sleep usually 10-15 people and there are times when the whole hut will be filled with fellow hut trippers or sometimes your group will have it to themselves. It depends on the time of year for availability usually. Here is a link to the website that shows you availability and how to make reservations. Hope that helped! https://olb.huts.org

Hey Dani! This looks amazing! What do you have to do in order to reserve a hut? Are they usually booked out in advance?
