Amabilis provides a beautiful view of the Snoqualmie Pass area with a trail that's well signed, easy to follow, and safe from avalanche risk.
To reach Amabilis Mountain, park at the Cabin Creek Sno Park at Exit 63 off I-90. Take the overpass across the highway to the trailhead and strap on your snowshoes. There's a maze of cross-country ski trails, but you'll want to keep to the right and follow the Berg trail for a quarter mile until you reach the sign for Amabilis. The trail follows a snowed-over forest road, so the grade is gentle and the trail is wide and smooth.
Just over 2 miles, you'll reach a fork in the trail at a nice lookout spot. From there, the trail loops. Take the left fork on the way up to get the best views. As you approach the top, Kachess Lake, Chikamin Ridge, and the Three Queens come into view to the north. Pass over the summit and follow the loop down the other side of the trail, enjoying the view of Snoqualmie Pass over Keechelus Lake. Once you reach the fork in the trail, continue down the same way you came up.
Amabilis Mountain and the Cabin Creek Sno Park are popular cross country skiing destinations, so be mindful of the ski tracks and groomed areas and walk to the far side of the paths, single file, even though the trail is wide. Deep gouges in the ski paths can cause injury to other skiers on the trail. No dogs are allowed on the trail.
