Climb a mountain that gives you a sense of accomplishment.
Arrive at Longmire in Mount Rainier National park about 9a.m. They open the gate during the late season at this time so you will want to get ahead of the crowd, especially if it is a beautiful day! This time of year it is required to carry chains, so don't forget those. Arrive at Paradise parking lot and start up the trekking next to the bathroom house in front of the parking lot. Carry a GPS if you haven't been here before because you can get turned around very easy out there when there has been a good snow. There is no established route to the top.
The hike itself is pretty easy until you get the the base of the peak. If this is your first time snowshoeing it can been tricky or a little more intensive, but keep pushing because you will get a great reward at the top. Once at the top take a break and replenish yourself, you may not be thirsty or hungry but it is very serious to eat so you can make it down without any complications.
Remember the gate closes at 4p.m. If you are not out, you will be camping up there.

Reviews
This trail was incredible. Challenging enough to be a great workout but beautiful enough to keep you wanting to go further. We did this trail on a clear late winter day and it was spectacular. The only downside was it was very crowded! Be sure to start early to avoid the crowds.
