An easy, pleasant walk that usually contains some interesting characters along the way.
Altogether this is about a 1.5 mile walk from one end to the other, 3 miles there and back. It's often full of interesting people. Typically around sunset in the warmer months, you can find a man somewhere along the Lakefront playing his violin. The music is beautiful. I have no idea who he is but he plays very well.
Needless to say, this is a particularly popular location in this area. However, parking is usually available. If you can't find any along the main stretch, turn down Girod Street. There are parking spaces on the sides of the road. Down, Girod Street, you'll also find some highly recommendable restaurants. McClain's Pizza, the Beach House, Rusty Pelican, and Old Rail are all very good and within walking distance of the Lakefront. No food is allowed on the Lakefront itself, but you're never far from it.
Feel free to bring a blanket for laying in the grass, and hammocks for hanging on the trees, or a frisbee or ball for playing with. This spot also offers an awesome view of the sunrise and sunset. I have seen some of the most beautiful sunsets out over the lake. Definitely worth checking it out.

I usually only saw the sunset on the Southshore but decided to head to the Northshore to see what all of the hype is about. I originally went to Sunset Point and quickly realized where the namesake was taken from. After, I drove to the marked location and found a nice beach and area for relaxing. I would also like to know if there is any areas where one can walk out on those long stretching cement "pilings" or "planks" that stretch out into the lake?
