Blue Hole in Georgetown
Georgetown, Texas
Description
Added by Ben Singer
Blue Hole is a small waterfall just a few blocks from downtown Georgetown that provides a nice outdoor escape from the Texas heat. Water can get up to 7 feet on the top level.
Head to the location pin and you will find free parking. Get out and head north on S Rock Street and you will come across a wide sidewalk that runs parallel with the South Fork San Gabriel River. Look East and you will see the Blue Hole about 600ft away. The waterfall has 3 levels. The first level above the top waterfall can get up to 7 feet. The second level comes up to about ankle height and then the third level just barely covers your feet. Be EXTREMELY careful when wading through the water as the rocks are very slick and maintaining your balance when walking through the river can be difficult. During the summertime it can look really crowded, but there are still plenty of spots surrounding the river and waterfall to lay down some towels, have a picnic, and still have plenty of elbow room. It is also dog friendly so bring your furry friend.

Reviews
Went yesterday while the weather was great. Since it’s December I did avoid going into the water, but saw some people in there. It’s pretty quiet for the most part. I like that there’s hidden tables on the top ledges and plenty of trees so I could put my hammock up and watch the passerby’s.
