Swim at Bãi Nhát Beach
Côn Đảo, Vietnam
Description
Added by Michael Wigle
Visit the calm, warm waters at one of Vietnam's best beaches found in a surreal tropical island landscape.
No visit to Côn Sơn Island is complete without watching a sunset behind the incredible cliffs of Little Côn Lôn Island. The best place to watch this go down is from a calm stretch of white sand called Bãi Nhát Beach.
From town, head out along the coastal road south towards the end of the island and wrap around the point heading towards the fishing harbor about 8 kilometers. The road starts to come down from the cliffs near the beach. There is a wall and places to park your scooter a few meters up from the sand and stone. Follow one of the little goat paths down to the calm shallow waters typically protected from the northern prevailing winds. The sand stretches a few hundred meters offshore into the deep blue waters providing for clear viewing of larger underwater life.
After catching a sunset here, head back into town to try some fresh caught fish at the Nhà hàng Thu Ba restaurant with a cold Saigon beer.
