Description

Added by Annelise G

A park with great access to this green lake in the heart of the South.

Lake Sidney Lanier is pretty big, but you don't need to be overwhelmed when you visit the lake via Dogwood Park. The park has a large pavilion and a few other picnic tables, lots of shade trees, and a couple of ways to access the lake.

On the left side, there's an abandoned marina (dangerous—it's falling apart), an active marina, and a cool red-rock beach with stair access. On the right side there is a boat ramp and swimming area.

Reviews

Dogwood Park has quite a few options for a day on the lake—picnic, boating, and swimming! A little more out of the way, too, so no need to worry about crowds. Lots of good hammocking trees!
