Description

Added by Jason Horstman

Take a stroll along this small semi-secluded beach which can only be accessed via a short manmade tunnel.

The main beach is located adjacent to Oceanside Beach State Park, which can be accessed via Cape Meares Loop/Netarts Oceanside Hwy.

Once you arrive at the park, head down towards the beach and start walking North. You'll notice a little hole-in-the-wall past a small group of rocks which you'll have to step over. Take precaution during storm season, as rocks above the tunnel entrance have been known to fall during inclement weather. Once in the tunnel, you'll want a source of light as there are plenty of rocks and logs to step over. The tunnel is short, so you'll reach the other side quickly, at which point you can stroll along the beach and view a small group of ocean rock formations to the North.

Pro tip: for some of the best food in the area, stop at the Blue Agate Cafe located right near the park off Pacific Ave.

Worth the stop! Explore/play on the beach and go through the tunnel, then drive up to check out the octopus tree

Was a fun area to make a stop away from the crowds. It is a good agate picking spot. Added bonus, saw a couple seals!

We got to the beach around 1 and walked through the tunnel (watch your head!) to tunnel beach. So pretty and if you kill enough time looking in tide pools and for sea glass you can walk around the point instead of going back through the tunnel when the tide goes out a little more. Nice quiet beach. Tunnel beach is more rocky than Oceanside and not ideal for wading through the water. But climb a rock and watch the waves for a few hours. ☺️

A favorite place on the Oregon Coast! Great agate spot at certain times of the year.
