Topo Designs 40L Travel Bag Review

From the mountains to the ocean, this bag will get you and your gear anywhere in the world.

I write this coming off a two-week trip which took me from the cold Pacific Northwest into the salty water of the Sea of Cortez, and Topo Designs 40L Travel Bag was a delight to bring along. This is by far my new favorite travel bag. I am constantly on the move with cameras, lenses, laptop, cables, chargers, you name it. For this reason alone I look for all-in-one travel bags. I need something that is not too big, but has enough space to carry the essentials along with all of my equipments that's also within the standard carry-on limits of all major airlines.

Being the only thing I packed, I was happy with how much room there is in this bag! Not only just the room, but all of the organizational pockets as well. If you are like me and have an obsession with compartments and keeping things in specific places in your bag, this is definitely for you.

From the moment I opened up the box, I knew this would be a durable long lasting bag. I have been all over the world and have put some travel bags through the wringer. Some have made it untouched, others weren't so lucky. The quality of materials put into this bag is definitely top tier, and I see myself traveling with it for quite some time.

It is time for some negatives because everything cannot be perfect. My biggest concern with the bag, is that there are no water bottle pockets. Now this isn't the worse thing in the world, as you can just clip a bottle to the daisy chain webbing on the outermost part of the pack. There is of course plenty of room in the bag for your water bottle, it is just more of a convenience thing for me.

This bag has been an absolute dream the past few weeks. From it's durability to comfort as well as no lack of space, I would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a new go to travel pack!

I hope enjoy these two videos. The one above is something short and fun I wanted to put together on my trip into Mexico. The other shows the packing capabilities of the pack.
